Magic Island reopens as cleanup continues at Ala Moana Regional Park
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Magic Island portion of Ala Moana Regional Park have reopened as cleanup continues following Hurricane Lowell.

The Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation said crews are still removing large amounts of sand and debris left behind by the storm.
The Magic Island parking lot reopened Wednesday afternoon.
However, the Magic Island Lagoon will remain closed until Friday while cleanup work continues.

Park users and pedestrians are being asked to stay away from active work areas and give crews room to safely complete the cleanup.
DPR said it is working to fully reopen Ala Moana Regional Park, with the goal of reopening the remaining areas later this week.
