Firefighters contain brush fire near Kaumakani Village on Kauai
KAUMAKANI (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Kaua‘i Fire Department has contained a brush fire in Kaumakani.

The fire was reported shortly after 11:40 a.m. Friday on Kaumualii Highway near Kaumakani Village.
Personnel with the Hanapepe, Kalaheo, and Waimea fire stations, private landowners, the Kauai Police Department and Kauai Emergency Management Agency responded.

Kaumualii Highway is closed in both directions for firefighting operations, officials said.
According to preliminary reports, there are no reports of damage to nearby structures and no reports of injuries.
