U.S. service members honored at POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – More than 200 U.S. service members identified over the past year were recognized during a ceremony at Punchbowl Friday morning.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency is responsible for identifying missing service members, honoring the commitment to never leave a fallen comrade behind.
The DPAA hosted the 2026 Prisoner of War and Missing in Action Recognition Day Ceremony.

The event recognizes the nation’s commitment to account for missing service members and honor the fallen.
Attendees gathered at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific for a reading of the names of more than 200 service members identified by DPAA since the last recognition ceremony.
