Rainbow Wahine volleyball to close homestand against Central Arkansas

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will close out its season-opening homestand this weekend with a two-match series against Central Arkansas.

Hawaii enters the matchup riding a three-match winning streak, most recently surviving a five-set thriller against former conference opponent UC San Diego.

Central Arkansas, meanwhile, heads to Honolulu still searching for its first win of the season.

“This team is still hungry for their first win, so it’s a different mindset going up against a team that they’re seeking their first win, but for us it’s like just we gotta make sure that, obviously it doesn’t happen this weekend,” Rainbow Wahine head coach Joshua Walker said.

Outside hitter Panna Ratkai said the team is focused on controlling what they can on their side of the net.

“We got to make the best out of the situation and we focus on our game. We keep our side clean and we stay positive on our side, and I believe we can do great things again.”

Both matches will air on K5, with coverage from the Bankoh Arena beginning at 6:30 p.m.
