More than 100 fans gathered at Bachman Hall and Hawaii Hall at UH Manoa for the kickoff of the “Our Team, Hawaii’s Team Trophy Tour.”
The tour comes after the Rainbow Warriors captured their third NCAA men’s volleyball national championship on May 11 with a win over UC Irvine.
“It really is gratifying to see how much joy and pride people take into, not only men’s volleyball but all the accomplishments in the athletic department,” said head coach Charlie Wade. “So getting a chance to share this beautiful piece of art that symbolizes something really significant accomplishment, it’s pretty cool.”

Students, faculty and staff had the chance to take photos with the trophy and celebrate the team’s championship season.
“It was really cool. Yeah, totally a lot of, a lot of UH pride,” said UH employee and longtime volleyball fan Colleen Licudine. “Seeing the men’s team rise up and be really successful in their program too, it’s been really, really nice.”
UH officials said additional trophy tour stops are being planned for UH West Oahu and Oahu community college campuses, with visits to Hawaii Island, Maui and Kauai expected later this year.
