First Alert Forecast: Breezy trades, passing showers to start the week

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Trade winds will remain on the breezy side through the weekend before gradually weakening through the latter half of the coming week.

Showers will favor the usual windward and mauka areas and will be mostly brief in duration, thanks to stable conditions. Some areas of moisture could bring a few more showers from time to time in the coming days.

Surf will decline on south shores Sunday. There’s supposed to be a new swell arriving Sunday night into Monday ‚but there’s still some uncertainty with the forecast, so stay tuned.

It’s also time for the monthly box jellyfish influx on south and some west facing shores on Oahu. Check with the lifeguards and look for warning signs before heading into the water.

Not much surf to speak of for north and west shores Sunday, with only tiny swells expected. East shore surf will remain rough due to the breezier trade winds.
