Man arrested after stabbing at Chinatown nightspot

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police arrested a man early Sunday morning after a Chinatown bar turned into a crime scene.

Late-night hotspot Bar 35 on North Hotel Street shut down around 12:30 a.m.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, a 21-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old man with a “dangerous instrument,” causing injury.

Officers surrounded the business and cordoned it off as a crime scene.

Firefighters and paramedics also responded.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services treated a 23-year-old man for minor cuts and wounds. He declined transportation to the hospital.

HPD detained the suspect, who was positively identified by the victim on scene.

The 21-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault.

Police said he is currently in custody pending the investigation.
