Incumbent Democrat Ed Case established an insurmountable lead after the first printout, securing 57% of the vote compared to second-place candidate state Sen. Jarrett K. Keohokalole’s 34%.

In his concession speech, Keohokalole thanked his supporters and said he called Case to congratulate him.

“We ran because we had policy differences. We ran because we thought that the moment called for more. And that’s why we ran this race. And that message now has been sent, and it’s been sent because of everyone that’s in this room right now,” Keohokalole said.

On the Republican side, Adriel C. Lam ran unopposed to secure the nomination.
