Firefighters extinguish abandoned building fire in Kalihi
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Honolulu Fire Department extinguished a fire in an abandoned Kalihi building Friday.
Crews were alerted to the blaze on Kaumualii Street near the Kapalama Shopping Center shortly after 6 p.m.
Firefighters were seen using one of the department’s ladder trucks to gain access to the roof of the building.

HFD extinguished the fire an hour later.
The HFD fire investigator is working to determine the cause and a damage estimate.
