First pier cap installed for Skyline expansion into downtown Honolulu
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – In another step toward extending Honolulu’s Skyline rail system, crews recently installed the first pier cap on a guideway column in downtown Honolulu.

Pier caps support the elevated guideway structure.
The column, located along Nimitz Highway near Fort Street, is part of the project’s third phase, which will stretch from the Kalihi Transit Center to the Civic Center at Halekauwila and South streets.

Skyline’s third segment is expected to open for passenger service in 2031.
