Officials advise staying out of Hanalei Bay after shark sighting
HANALEI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Ocean safety officials are advising the public to stay out of the water at Hanalei Bay following a shark sighting.

Kauai Ocean Safety Bureau officials said a 6- to 7-foot shark was spotted around 2:15 p.m. Sunday near the Pavilion Tower.
No injuries were reported.
As a precaution, warning signs have been posted, and officials said they will continue monitoring the bay.

Lifeguards are expected to reassess the area Monday afternoon. If there are no additional sightings, ocean activities could resume at about 2:15 p.m. Monday.
