Firefighters extinguish restroom structure fire in Ala Moana area

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out in a detached restroom building in the Ala Moana area Friday afternoon.

Crews responded around 1 p.m. to the 1600 block of Kalauokalani Way.

The Honolulu Fire Department arrived at 1:10 p.m. to find smoke and flames coming from a restroom situated next to a single-family home.

Another unit searched the adjacent home and confirmed no one was inside.

HFD brought the fire under control at around 1:19 p.m. and fully extinguished it seven minutes later. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire and total damage estimates remain under investigation.
