Kokua Council hosts virtual candidate forums ahead of primary election

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii voters can hear directly from the candidates during a series of virtual forums hosted by Kokua Council.

Kokua Council has been advocating for seniors since the early 1970s.

The nonprofit says these forums are an opportunity to learn more about participating candidates and what each hopes to do to improve the lives of kupuna and residents.

The series kicked off Monday with candidates for lieutenant governor. Additional forums are scheduled this week as follows:

Friday, July 31

The public is encouraged to submit questions. Kokua Council says questions should not be candidate-specific, but pose issues and topics that are related to the state or the district the candidates would represent if elected.
