Spencer pleaded not guilty to charges related to an incident outside the baggage claim area of Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

He is accused of stealing a couple’s vehicle last Wednesday while their teenaged daughter was still inside.

Initial reports allege that Spencer dropped the girl off shortly after taking the car.

She was found physically unharmed, and Spencer was arrested a few miles away.

The victims have pushed for the suspect to be charged with kidnapping, but, at this time, Spencer has been charged with theft and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

The judge says Spencer does not have a local address and just recently arrived on Oahu a few months ago.

His bail has been set at $50,000.
