The Hawaiian Humane Society will be joining a nationwide effort with BISSELL Pet Foundation to “Empty the Shelters.”

Beginning Sunday through July 26, adoption fees for cats and dogs will be reduced to $70 or less, making it more affordable to welcome a new pet into the family.

The Humane Society said all pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

There are more than 1,000 animals in Hawaiian Humane’s care, and organizers said the event provides critical relief by encouraging adoption and creating space for pets awaiting homes.
