Danny Casler, founder of the Hawaii Tattoo Expo, and Greg Frey, an organizer of the event, joined us on HNN’s Sunrise Weekends to share what attendees can expect, along with a look at the unique range of tattoo designs on display.

The 11th Annual Hawaii Tattoo Expo returns to Honolulu July 10–12, featuring 500 artists, live entertainment and family-friendly fun.

This year, the expo is open to all ages for the first time, with a free kid’s zone, celebrity tattoo artists from Ink Master and NY Ink, plus classic motorcycles and lowriders.

There will also be local food trucks and vendor shopping, including businesses featured through the Makeke Pop-Up program.

Attendees can also check out contests like a pizza-eating challenge with a year of free Domino’s pizza, and a ribs challenge sponsored by Whiskey Smoke with a $500–$1,000 tattoo prize.

The festivities kick off Thursday, July 9th, with a free meet and greet co-hosted by Romer House Waikiki and The Lei Stand, giving attendees a chance to meet featured artists before the main event starts.

Single-day tickets are $30, with a three-day pass available for $80. Discounts for military are offered.

Attendees who get tattooed at the event can apply the cost of their ticket toward their tattoo with most participating artists effectively making admission free.
