The Waimea Bay beach parking lot will also be closed during work hours. Emergency vehicles and city buses will be allowed access. Waimea Valley will not be impacted.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation said the closure is necessary for the second and final helicopter delivery of rockfall protection netting. Crews will then begin securing the netting to pre-drilled anchors in the slope.
