Demand prompts Journey to add second Blaisdell Arena show

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Journey will play a second show at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena on Sunday, Sept. 6, after strong demand for the band’s previously announced Honolulu date, promoter Rick Bartalini Presents said.

The Sept. 6 concert is part of Journey’s “Final Frontier Tour.” The band is also scheduled to perform Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Blaisdell Arena — a date the promoter called Journey’s last-ever performance in Hawaii.

“Journey’s relationship with Hawaii is unlike anything we have seen with a mainland-based artist or group,” Rick Bartalini of RBP said in a statement. “These songs have been part of people’s lives here for generations, and the response to this final Hawaii return has been incredible.”

Tickets are now available via an online-only presale for Hawaii residents on Ticketmaster, with no code required, organizers said. Mainland access and the general on-sale begin Friday, July 3, at 10 a.m. HST. The Hawaii presale runs through Friday, July 3, at 9 a.m. HST.

Organizers urged fans to buy only through Ticketmaster, the official ticketing provider, and to avoid inflated or speculative resale listings.

A portion of the proceeds will support local flood recovery efforts. Organizers said $1 from every ticket sold will benefit the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s work to help families and communities impacted by recent Kona Low storms.
