On Friday, prosecutors charged the 32-year-old suspect with second-degree murder. His bail was set at $500,000.

The charge stems from an incident Wednesday when the victim, identified as Jesus Black, was found with severe injuries on Nalanui Street. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

Police said the 32-year-old was taken to the hospital following a disturbance call earlier that day. After linking him to the incident, officers arrested him on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

When Black died at the hospital, HPD reclassified the case as murder. The suspect was charged Friday via a warrant of arrest.
