State Budget and Finance director to serve as acting governor

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Department of Budget and Finance Director Seth Colby is now serving as acting governor.

On June 4, the office of Gov. Josh Green said he would be out of state from June 8 through 23 for time with family.

Acting Lt. Gov. Keith Regan was serving as acting governor until Thursday.

Colby will serve as acting governor from Thursday, June 11, through Monday, June 15.

The governor’s office said Regan and Attorney General Anne Lopez will be out of state on previously scheduled travel.

Officials said Regan will be traveling to attend his son’s college graduation. Lopez will be traveling to attend her mother’s funeral.

Gov. Green will retain executive authority while traveling.

The governor’s office said Green’s leadership team will remain fully engaged and available to support Colby.

Green returns to Hawaii on June 23.
