Water service restored in Haiku after well outage, water stations remain available
HAIKU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Water service has been restored to areas of Haiku after a well outage left customers with little or no water.

The Maui County Department of Water Supply said a severe electrical issue knocked the well out of service Sunday, affecting customers in the West Kuiaha and Awalau areas.
The outage had affected roughly 200 customers since 11 a.m. Sunday.
Water service gradually began returning Monday afternoon.
DWS staff monitored the well overnight and confirmed service was fully restored early Tuesday morning.

Water buffaloes will remain available throughout Tuesday for residents who may still need access to water.

DWS said crews had been working on the pump and monitoring the system since the outage began.
