Registration opens for Hawaii LifeSmarts student competition

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Registration is now open for Hawaiʻi’s annual LifeSmarts competition.

The free educational program gives students a chance to test their knowledge in personal finance, consumer rights and responsibilities, health and safety, the environment and technology.

Teams must include one adult coach or teacher and at least four students.

High school teams can compete in the online portion of the competition from Oct. 12 through Dec. 4.

The top four teams will advance to the state championship on Feb. 18, 2027, at the Neil S. Blaisdell Center.

The winning team will have the opportunity to represent Hawaii at the national competition in Buffalo, New York, in April.

Middle school teams in grades 6 through 8 can also take part in an online-only competition during the same October-to-December window.

More than 3,500 Hawaii students have participated in LifeSmarts since 2004.
