Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by Honolulu police vehicle
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – On Tuesday, at about 12:51 a.m., a serious collision involving a pedestrian occurred on South Beretania Street in the Honolulu area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that an HPD Officer was traveling westbound on South Beretania Street near the intersection of Victoria Street when a 57-year-old pedestrian attempted to cross South Beretania Street outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian entered the officer’s path of travel and was subsequently struck.
As a result of the collision, the 57-year-old man, a pedestrian, was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.

The HPD Officer remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor to this collision.
