Pedestrian crash marks Oahu’s 24th traffic fatality in 2026
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An 80-year-old woman has died from her injuries nearly a month after being struck by a vehicle in a marked Pearl City crosswalk.

According to Honolulu police, the crash occurred around 6:50 a.m. on June 10 at the intersection of Kaahumanu and Noelani streets.
Investigators say a 68-year-old man was driving north on Kaahumanu Street when he turned left onto Noelani Street and struck the woman as she crossed the roadway.
The woman was rushed to a hospital in serious condition following the collision. On Friday, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office notified police that she had succumbed to her injuries.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene.
Police say it is currently unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol played a role in the crash.
This marks Oahu’s 24th traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 47 at this same time last year. The investigation is ongoing.
