Mokulele Airlines expands inter-island service with new aircraft, terminal renovation

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Mokulele Airlines is expanding inter-island services with three new aircraft.

On Thursday, the airline welcomed the three Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft and also unveiled its newly renovated Terminal 3 facility at the Honolulu Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

Mokulele said it’s one of the most significant expansions in the airline’s recent history and will mark the occasion with blessing ceremonies across Honolulu, Lanai, Molokai and Maui on Thursday and Friday.

Gary McKoy, vice president of airports and stations for Mokulele, said it’s part of the airline’s commitment to listening and meeting the needs of the communities it serves.

“Renewing our fleet and stations reflects our commitment to listening and meeting the evolving needs of the communities we serve,” McKoy said. “These improvements are an important step in strengthening our service across Hawaii and responding to the feedback we receive.”

The airline said the new aircraft are “just off the Cessna manufacturing line,” and they will join its existing inter-island schedule, expanding capacity and strengthening service reliability.

The renovation in Honolulu is the first time the facility has been updated since it opened back in 2018.

Each new aircraft will be blessed tomorrow at its home stations on Lanai, Molokai and Maui between flights.

“We’re just very excited to continue our commitment here in the state of Hawaii to our communities, especially on the islands of Molokai, Lanai, Kahului, as well as on the Big Island,” McKoy added. “Through these blessing ceremonies, we reaffirm our commitment to serving Hawaii and recognize the trust local residents place in us every time they fly.”
