HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A reported gas leak prompted an evacuation at the Costco Iwilei on Tuesday afternoon.

The Honolulu Fire Department said crews responded to 525 Alakawa Street shortly after 1 p.m. and arrived to find people evacuating the store.
Three HFD units staffed with 11 personnel responded, including a Hazardous Materials unit that was redirected from another incident.

Hazmat crews used air monitoring equipment inside the store and determined all readings were normal.
