Crews rush to contain late-night fire at Kauai DMV building
LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) – Kauai firefighters are battling a large fire at the DMV building on Rice Street Wednesday night.

Officials said the call came in just before 9 p.m., and the roof of the building appeared to be on fire.
The building was reportedly without power and operating on a generator at the time.

Several fire companies, along with a ladder truck from Kalaheo and Hanapepe, responded to the scene.
The extent of the damage is not yet known, and officials have not confirmed whether anyone was injured.
