HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The five juvenile suspects in connection with an assault on Oʻahu’s North Shore have been charged.

Officers responded Saturday to an assault investigation at Waialee Beach, commonly known as “Dead Man’s Curve.”
Detectives determined a 23-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were assaulted by multiple individuals and suffered significant injuries that required medical treatment, police said.
At around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said the case was conferred with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, and petitions were filed in Family Court charging all five juvenile suspects with attempted assault in the first degree.
In addition, the two 17-year-old male suspects were charged with attempted assault in the second degree, police said.

Investigators later learned the victims were allegedly restrained and prevented from leaving during the assault, police said. As a result, kidnapping allegations were added to the investigation.

On Tuesday, three suspects — a 17-year-old and two 14-year-olds — were identified and arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and assault, police said.
On Wednesday, two more suspects — ages 15 and 17 — turned themselves in and were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and assault, police said.
Unknown male in photos identified
Earlier Wednesday, the Honolulu Police Department sought the identity of an unknown male in photos released in connection with the investigation.
Police said the images were captured from video footage related to the case.
At around 7:30 p.m., police said the man had been identified and thanked the public for their assistance.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are anticipated, police said. Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
