The season’s biggest south swell peaked Wednesday and sent waves crashing over the break wall along Alii Drive.
It’s a fun distraction for people eating at The Fish Hopper, but county lifeguards have been very busy out on the ocean.
A high surf advisory is in effect for all south shores until 6 p.m. Thursday, and the National Weather Service has put up a marine weather statement.
Surf along south-facing shores will continue to gradually come down. The waves should still provide fun conditions for experienced surfers while becoming a little more manageable for beachgoers compared to earlier this week.
