Alaska Airlines announces new Honolulu-California summer service

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A new daily summer service from Hawaii to California is ready to depart.

Alaska Airlines announced that the seasonal nonstop service between Hollywood Burbank and Honolulu began Wednesday and will run until Aug. 18.

The flights on Boeing 737–8 MAX aircraft leave Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 12:19 p.m. and arrive in Burbank at about 9 p.m.

The airline said it’s the fourth option for travel between Hawaii and the Los Angeles region and beyond, linking the California-Hawaii network to nine airports, including:

The airline said nonstop travel is offered daily between Honolulu and the nine California airports, with additional nonstop service from Kahului, Lihue and Kona.

Alaska said the seasonal route is due to the expanding, joint network of Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines.

“Together, we are able to offer guests traveling between California and Hawaii the most seats, flights and destinations, providing unmatched access, flexibility and choice,” said Neil Thwaites, vice president of global sales and California commercial performance.

The carrier said it expects to operate nearly 23,000 flights connecting California and Hawaii.
