The Hawaii Department of Transportation said the work is resuming after a two-month pause.
Officials said the lanes will be closed nightly between the Moanalua Gardens and the Halawa Interchange from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Sunday through Friday.
HDOT said crews will repave the three left lanes of the freeway and will switch to repaving the three right lanes towards the H-3 Freeway overpass.
The department said additional work for the project includes:
Special duty police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures. Electronic message boards will also be posted to notify drivers of the planned closures, officials said.

HDOT said repaving along the Halawa Interchange off-ramp from the westbound Moanalua Freeway and the right lanes between the Middle Street off-ramp and the Halawa Interchange was completed in December 2025.
Officials said the work paused in March was due to recent severe weather events, supply challenges preventing construction and crew availability.
HDOT said the project will improve road conditions, but it is now expected to continue through January of next year.
