Authorities investigate plane crash off Molokai involving Oahu flight school
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – We are finding out more information on the small plane crash that took place in the waters off Molokai on Monday.

Two men survived the crash just offshore of Kalaupapa.
Maui County said the single-engine aircraft went down around 11:40 a.m. Monday, as they were approaching the runway two miles west of the Kalaupapa Airport.
The two men inside were able to get out on their own and swim to shore and on to the National Park facilities.

A fire department helicopter later carried them to the Kalaupapa lookout, where they got an Emergency Medical Services evaluation and were then taken to Molokai General Hospital.
The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The aircraft number is registered as owned by the Pacific Flight Academy LLC, which is located on Lagoon Dr on Oahu.

Federal authorities will be investigating the cause of the crash.
