First Alert Forecast: Breezy trades to blow through the holiday weekend
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Breezy to occasionally strong trade winds are expected to continue through the Memorial Day holiday weekend and beyond. The trades have eased up enough for the wind advisory to finally expire for the islands of Maui and Hawaii.

Moisture levels will be relatively low, but you can still expect the typical scattered showers for windward and mauka areas through Friday. Very few showers are expected leeward.

Surf along east-facing shores will remain rough and elevated due to the strong trade winds but should remain below high surf advisory levels. North and west shores will get a small boost in surf heights. A small, long-period south swell will fade Sunday.
