H-1 eastbound traffic gridlocked after Waiawa overpass crash
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An H-1 Freeway overpass crash triggered massive eastbound traffic gridlock Friday afternoon.

Officials said two eastbound lanes were closed, including the shoulder lane, as Honolulu police and fire departments and the state Department of Transportation respond
A dump truck hit the Waiawa overpass at around 1:08 p.m., causing the trailer to be lodged under the bridge, the Honolulu Police Department said.
Viewers sent us photos and video of the trailer perched precariously on the road. In a social media post, the DOT said a truck was stuck under the overpass.

Police said another eastbound vehicle hit debris from the crash. No one was hurt.

As of 4:30 p.m., HDOT said all lanes have been reopened.
