UH Wahine Soccer shuts out HPU, 7-0

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The University of Hawaii at Manoa women’s soccer team scored its second win of the season Saturday, shutting out the Hawaii Pacific Univeristy Sharks 7-0.

Saturday’s victory comes on the heels of last week’s win against Idaho, as the ‘Bows improve to 2-3 on the season.

Forward Anuhea Aluli scored a hat trick, accounting for three of the team’s seven goals.

“I feel like I had a couple before, but this one is the most meaningful,” she said.

Aluli, a senior transfer and a Kamehameha Schools Kapalama graduate, added that the team has improved every weekend.

“Every game gets better for us, and every practice we’re getting better,” she said.

Aluli now has five goals on the season and isn’t just comfortable, but is having fun.

“It’s hard not to have fun here,” she said. “I’ve played with a lot of these girls since I was young and have known the coaches my whole soccer career. It makes it fun to be playing with these people.”

Jas Cayetano and Parisa Abedi scored one goal each, and Tatum Porter scored twice.

Up next, the ‘Bows face New Mexico State on Thursday, Sept. 3, and Washington State on Sunday, Sept. 6.
