HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area and the Aiea Loop Trail will reopen Friday after repairs to equipment damaged by Tropical Storm Lala were completed.

Hawaiian Electric said Thursday it completed repairs to a transmission structure damage caused by the tropical cyclone.

Downed trees were seen throughout the park.

HECO said a helicopter helped crews replace the transmission structure.

Safety signs were posted at the park entrance.
