The Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of State Parks (DSP) announced the closure Thursday for asphalt curing and the installation of speed bumps along the roadway.

The Keawaʻula Section will reopen Saturday, Sept. 5 for Labor Day weekend.

The beach portion of the park will be open while the work is underway.

However, the state advises residents and visitors not to use the park during this time because parking outside the gate is “extremely limited.”
