Man charged after allegedly trying to run over police officers with vehicle

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A man was charged Thursday after allegedly trying to run over police officers with a vehicle.

Dane Lemes-Keller, 34, was charged with first-degree criminal property damage, attempted assault against a law enforcement officer, second-degree attempted assault, third-degree promoting a dangerous drug, first-degree unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Police were trying to find a wanted suspect in Kalaeola Tuesday at about 12:40 p.m when Lemes-Keller allegedly drove toward the officers.

They rushed to get out of the way to avoid being struck, said police. The vehicle crashed into two police vehicles.

Lemes-Keller’s bail is set at $250,000.
