Video shows progress in Aloha Stadium dismantling

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – New video shows the progress in dismantling the old Aloha Stadium.

The first sections came down in April.

The seating has been removed, as well as concourses, the field, and much of the stadium’s structure.

The metal is being cut up and recycled.

The public-private redevelopment is on track to open the new stadium in 2029.

AlohaStadium’s transformation continues. The now unrecognizable structure is the result of significant progress by dismantling crews. Seating that hosted millions of fans through five decades has now been removed—as have concourses, the field, and much of the stadium structure. Each milestone paves the way for what’s ahead: the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District, bringing the next generation of sports, entertainment, housing, and community spaces to Hawaii.
