Hundreds of Kuhio Park keiki receive free supplies at back-to-school event
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Nearly 400 children at the Towers at Kuhio Park received bags of new school supplies on Friday.

Bags were stuffed with binders, composition books, portfolios, filler paper, scissors, highlighters, protractors, rulers, pens, colored pencils, and erasers.
All school supplies were purchased through contributions from the Island Insurance Foundation, the charitable arm of local insurance carrier Island Insurance.
The effort, now in its ninth year, was spearheaded by Island Insurance’s employee volunteer group, Hoʻohana Club.

“I personally enjoy giving back to the community by creating service opportunities like this for our team,” said Eric Arguin, a claims specialist at Island Insurance. “We will continue to be a part of the change we want to see for future generations, like today’s keiki at Kuhio Park.”
Friday’s distribution was part of a broader back-to-school event, Kool 4 School, organized by Towers at Kuhio Park management.

The event also included free physicals, eye exams, and haircuts for keiki.
