Maui officer added to Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial during remembrance
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Law enforcement officers, community members and families gathered Sunday evening to honor officers who died in the line of duty.

The annual Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial Remembrance Ceremony was heldfrom 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.at the Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial on the grounds of the Kalanimoku Building.
Organizers said the ceremony honors officers across city, state, military and federal agencies who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the community.
“There’s so much stories about these law enforcement officers, that how they lived as heroes, not necessarily how they died. But its important that we remember them,” said Kurt Kendro, president of the Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation board.

During the service, Maui Police Department Officer Suzanne O., who was killed in the line of duty in 2025, was added to the memorial.
“Officer Suzanne O. served with integrity, courage and an enduring commitment to our community, just like the other 84 men and women who are honored at the memorial,” Kendro added. “We are eternally grateful to them, as well as their families and friends.”
The ceremony is open to the public and was livestreamed on the Honolulu Police Department’s YouTube channel.
