UH Manoa to host high school commencements, congestion expected
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Drivers near UH Manoa should expect traffic delays over the next two weeks as the campus hosts several high school graduation ceremonies.

UH Manoa will host nine commencement ceremonies for the class of 2026 beginning Monday, May 18.
Most ceremonies will be held at the Stan Sheriff Center, while the University of Hawaiʻi Laboratory School ceremony will take place at Andrews Amphitheater.
University officials said traffic congestion is expected around campus beginning about two hours before each ceremony and lasting up to one hour afterward.
On-campus parking will be available for a flat rate of $10 per vehicle. Officials said payment will be credit card and contactless only.

UH also noted weekday parking structures will remain closed to the public until three hours before scheduled ceremonies.

Mid-Pacific Institute will also hold its graduation ceremony May 23 on its campus next to UH Manoa.
University officials are encouraging attendees and nearby residents to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during graduation events.
