First Alert Forecast: Increasing chance of showers to end the work week

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Areas of deep tropical moisture will move through the islands over the next few days, increasing the chance for enhanced showers, mainly for windward and mauka areas.

One such area of moisture is expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Another one is set to arrive Thursday night into the weekend. The moisture will also boost dewpoints into the lower 70s, especially Friday, so get ready for some muggy weather.

In surf, the current south-southwest swell is on the way down for the rest of the week, but there’s a First Alert for another swell Saturday into early next week. East shores will continue to have a rough and choppy trade wind swell, with no significant swells from the north or northwest.

Also, there’s still a high probability of box jellyfish for south shores on Oahu Thursday. For mariners, a small craft advisory remains posted for all Hawaiian coastal waters.
