Teen with machete accused of stealing car in Waianae, crash leads to arrest
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police are investigating a robbery involving a juvenile suspect that took place in the Waianae area on Wednesday.
Police said that at approximately 12:20 a.m., a 76-year-old woman was feeding stray cats in the area of Guard St and Farrington Highway when she left her vehicle running nearby.
A 14-year-old boy, armed with a machete, approached the woman, threatened her, and demanded her vehicle.

The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
An alert was broadcast, and officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of Kapi’olani Medical Center.
The suspect was involved in a crash with two parked cars before being taken into custody. The juvenile suspect was arrested for robbery in the first degree and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle in the first degree.
