Shark reportedly seen eating turtle off West Oahu

WEST OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A shark was reportedly seen eating a turtle near a West Oahu beach Tuesday.

The Honolulu Ocean Safety Department posted warning signs on the beach in the Makaha area and issued a shark advisory at 2:14 p.m.

According to reports, the 6-8 foot long tiger shark was spotted about 150 yards from shore.

The public is asked to notify Ocean Safety personnel or call 911 immediately upon seeing a shark.

Beachgoers are reminded to always check with a lifeguard for the latest ocean and beach conditions.
