The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing community groups to conduct the annual clean-up of Maluhia Road ahead of the Koloa Plantation Days celebration.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted to Koloa Road.

Officials are also reminding the public that Omao Road is a narrow residential road and is not intended to be used as a detour route, nor is it designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic.

The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Omao Road.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and follow posted speed limits and all traffic signs.
