Suspect charged in connection with 2 Makiki bank robberies
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A suspect was charged in connection with two bank robberies in the Makiki area.

Michael Hooper, 69, was charged with two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree on Wednesday.
Hooper was arrested Monday, after police say he demanded money from a bank on South Beretania Street and another bank on Piikoi Street.

He allegedly fled on foot with cash from the second bank before being identified and arrested, according to police reports

His bail is set at $100,000.
