Man arrested in connection with 2 Makiki bank robberies
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A man has been arrested in connection with two bank robberies in Makiki.

Honolulu police said a 69-year-old man is accused of targeting two banks minutes apart Monday afternoon.
Police said the first incident happened at about 2:53 p.m. at a bank on South Beretania Street, where the suspect allegedly demanded money from a teller before leaving without cash.
About four minutes later, police said the same man entered a bank on Piikoi Street, demanded money and fled on foot with cash.

Officers later located a man matching the description nearby and said he was positively identified as the suspect in both incidents.
No injuries were reported.
The man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and second-degree robbery.
