First Alert Forecast: Summertime trade wind weather, but more showers on the way

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Trade winds are expected to blow over the islands for the coming week. Just a few nighttime and morning showers are expected for windward and mauka areas Sunday.

A few bands of increased moisture are expected late Sunday into Monday, and again Tuesday night through Wednesday night. This will increase the intensity of coverage of showers, with some precipitation making its way to leeward areas. In addition, the increased moisture may also increase humidity levels Monday through Wednesday night.

A small south swell is expected to peak Sunday. East shores will continue to have a choppy trade wind swell, while north shore waves will remain small to flat.
