Gov. Green to lead Western Governors’ Association
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Gov. Josh Green is set to become the next chair of the Western Governors’ Association.

Green will travel to Utah from June 27 through July 2 to attend the association’s annual meeting, where he will officially assume leadership of the bipartisan organization representing Western states and territories.
As chair, Green will launch his initiative, Health Beyond Healthcare, focusing on improving mental health by addressing clinical care as well as the social and environmental factors that affect health and well-being.

“It is a privilege for Hawaiʻi to lead the Western Governors’ Association during this important moment,” Green said. “Supporting good mental health is one of the defining challenges of our time and improving outcomes requires us to look beyond the walls of a clinic.”

During Green’s trip, Acting Lt. Gov. Keith Regan will serve as acting governor.
